Cambridge University's Arabic-Character MSS Catalogues

This list is dated March 2007:

Arabic:

Baker, Colin F and Polliack, Meira - Arabic and Judaeo-Arabic Manuscripts in the Cambridge Genizah Collections: Arabic Old Series (Cambridge University Library Genizah S.) (Hardcover - 25 Jan 2001)

Listed on Amazon

Please visit the Cambridge University Library Near Eastern Section's Manuscript Collection & Catalogues webpage for other Genizah Collection catalogues which probably/definitely have Arabic content.

Persian:

Browne, EG - A Catalogue of the Persian Manuscripts in the Library of the University of Cambridge. Cambridge, 1896. [Offered by Antioch Gate!]

Some of the MSS listed in the above volume are elaborated upon in the subsequent two Browne handlists.

Arabic, Persian, Turkish:

Browne, EG - A Hand-List of the Muhammadan Manuscripts, Including All Those Written in the Arabic Character, Preserved in the Library of the University of Cambridge. Cambridge, 1900. [Offered by Antioch Gate!]

Browne, EG - A Supplementary Hand-List of the Muhammadan Manuscripts, Including All Those Written in the Arabic Character, Preserved in the Libraries of the University and Colleges of Cambridge. Cambridge, 1922. [Offered by Antioch Gate!]

Arabic, Persian:

Arberry, AJ - A Second Supplementary Hand-List of the Muhammadan Manuscripts in the University and Colleges of Cambridge. Cambridge, 1952.

Browne, EG & Nicholson, RA - A Descriptive Catalogue of the Oriental MSS, Belonging to the Late E. G. Browne by E. G. Browne Completed and Edited with a Memoir of the Author and a Bibliography of His Writings by Reynold A. Nicholson. Cambridge at the University Press 1932. xxii, 325 pp.

The Browne hand-lists/catalogue and Arberry's Second Supplementary Hand-List are the only the compendiæ Cambridge has for its Oriental Collection (of MSS in the Arabic character, inc. Persian, Turkish etc. languages). There is a card catalogue detailing later acquisitions too. You must come in to personally browse the card collection if you want to go further than the hand-lists/catalogue in the Oriental Collection.

Just to clear up any confusion - Browne first catalogued not his own collection but the existing
Cambridge collections. He finally set about listing his own collection, but died, and after his death the task was completed in the publication of Nicholson's
Descriptive Catalogue.

(This would appear to be a highly generalised catalogue that doesn't compare to the Browne catalogues as far as the Oriental collection goes)
